ENGL
Based on ENGL's Smart Windows Deployment methodology, ENGL Ztoolkit can be used to create a hardware independent ZENworks image for Windows 2000, XP Professional or Vista. The ENGL Ztoolkit includes a Sysprep-wrapper that can dynamically locate OEM drivers delivered using a ZENworks add-on image and automate the entire Windows build process without the needing complex scripts or batch files. The modular imaging approach used by Ztoolkit will reduce your internal development, deployment and maintenance costs whilst simplifying the entire build process.
| Imaging Integration Lights-out Deployment ZENworks imaging is scriptable and incredibly powerful. ENGL Zim enhances ZENworks imaging by securing the PXE environment using eDirectory authentication, imaging menus based on eDirectory identity and group membership, and automating image selection and restore using DMI hardware discovery. ENGL Zim can be used with ZENworks bootable CDROM/DVD and PXE imaging. Organisations can typically spend 3 - 12 months creating an automated Windows installation that is likely to contain unsupported batch files, scripts and shareware utilities. Using the ENGL Imaging Toolkit an entire automated Windows build and imaging deployment process can be ready within hours. Universal imageA single universal ZENworks base image can be created for a Windows OS version that is compatible with many different machine manufacturers, models and types. Once this image is created it need only be updated with major Windows service packs. | Driver integrationUsing the Driver Export Wizard and Sysprep-wrapper, hardware drivers can easily be extracted and delivered using ZENworks add-on images without recreating the base image. Windows security hotfixes can be installed automatically before network communication is established, reducing the risk of an across-the-wire attack. Modular build processThe build process automates tasks including Novell Client and ZENworks Management Agent installation, computer naming, ZENworks workstation registration, NT/Active Directory membership, application installation and updating of the Default User profile. The mouse and keyboard (including Ctrl-Alt-Delete) can be disabled during the build. If powered off, the build process will recover when the workstation is restarted. Application logic rulesUsing ZENworks application distribution together with Ztoolkit's NAL Logic Rules, applications can be installed based on the workstation and/or workstation owner. This allows applications to be pre-installed and ready for use when the user logs in for the first time, which reduces post-logon delays and increases user productivity.
